after the class's visit today to The Green Teahouse, I realized a few things. Well two things to be more exact: ONE: my packaging for Awaken tea is going to need to be nothing short of air tight. TWO: the contents are going to need to be kept out of reach of major sources of light and moisture until the moment of steeping.
This lead me to a little exploration of what kind of air-tight, non-transparent/translucent containers actually exist in this world before I start trying to figure out a way to create one (if necessary). These are some examples of what I found:
says glass body on site (acrylic lid) |
little black container (MAGNETIC!?) |
bamboo container (clamp lid) |
Smaller stainless steel (clamp lids) |
black plastic (push to release air/lid) |
stainless steel (translucent lid?) |
stainless steel (transparent lid) |
... ? | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |

resealer, but what can I reseal with these? |
I'm not sure on whether or not I would want to use a container with a lid which would be more rigid, or something more organic in shape without a lid yet still airtight (bag). Apparently these little devices reseal bags so that they become airtight again...not so sure about that, but might be worth looking into.
